Abstract: INTERESTED AND QUALIFIED STATES MAY ASSUME 404 PERMIT RESPONSIBILITY FROM THE CORPS IN CERTAIN WATERS OF THE U.S. APPLICATION INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS ARE NECESSARY TO ASSURE SUFFICIENT INFORMATION TO DETERMINE IF PROPOSED DISCHARGES ARE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE 404(B)(1) GUIDELINES AND PERMITABLE UNDER THE ACT.
