Abstract: THIS SURVEY COLLECTS CRIMINAL AND NONCRIMINAL INFORMATION FROM SAMPLED INMATES IN STATE CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS. THESE DATA ARE USED BY TH BJS, THE CONGRESS, JOURNALISTS, RESEARCHERS, PRACTITIONERS, SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS, AND ACADEMICIANS TO EXPLAIN OR STUDY MAJOR ISSUES IN CORRECTIONS TODAY OR ANALYSE CHANGES OVER TIME.
