Terms of Clearance: THIS REQUEST IS APPROVED SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: 1. UNDER SEPERATE CONTRACT, EDUCATION WILL GATHER AND ANALYZE SIMILAR TYPES OF INFORMATION ON THOSE INDIAN-CONTROLLED SCHOOLS NOT COVERED BY THIS STUDY. (2) EDUCATION WILL INSTRUCT ITS CONTRACTOR TO MAKE USE OF SCHOOL RECORDS, WHEREVER FEASIBLE, TO DETERMINE WHAT SCHOO STUDENTS HAVE PREVIOUSLY ATTENDED. 3. EDUCATION WILL INSTRUCT ITS CONTRACTOR TO PROBE FOR AND DOCUMENT ANY SERVICES (E.G., MAINTENANCE, CONSTRUCTION OR RENOVATION, TRANSPORTATION, ETC.) THAT THE SCHOOL DOES NOT PAY FOR ITSELF (IN PARTICULAR, THOSE SERVICES AR5ANGED AND PAID FOR BY BIA AREA OFFICES). 4. EDUCATION AND ITS CONTRACTOR (ABT) WILL ASSURE THAT USE OF ANY DAT COLLECTED THROUGH STUDENT QUESTIONNAIRES OR OTHER IS, IN ALL CASES, STATISTICALLY SUPPORTABLE AND APPROPRITATELY QUALIFIED. 5. EDUCATION WILL SUBMIT A MORE DETAILED EXPLANATION OF HOW A T-TEST OR ON-WAY ANALYSIS OF COVARIANCE WILL BE USED TO ANALYZE THE ACHIEVEMENT TEST DATA.

Abstract: THE INFORMATION WILL PROVIDE A FACTUAL BASIS FOR EVALUATING THE PAYROL COSTS, ACADEMIC STANDARDS AND ATTENDANCE LEVELS IN INDIAN CONTROLLED SCHOOLS. THE AFFECTED PUBLIC INCLUDES THESE SCHOOLS AND SELECTED PUBL OR BIA SCHOOLS, AND THE STUDENTS AND STAFF WITHIN THEM. THE INFORMATI WILL BE USED BY CONGRESS IN DETERMINING FUTURE FUNDING LEVELS FOR THE INDIAN CONTROLLED SCHOOLS.
