Abstract: 1160 COMMERCIAL CARRIERS HAVE ELECTED TO FILE 8550 TENDERS WITH DOD UNDER PROVISIONS OF 49 CFR 10721. TENDERS ARE USED BY DOD TO SELECT CARRIERS FOR 700,000 FREIGHT SHIPMENTS ANNUALLY. TENDERS ARE NOW SUBMITTED VIA THE OF 280 WHICH IS UNDISCIPLINED AND REQUIRES EXCESSIVE MANUAL PROCESSING TIME. PROPOSED FORM SUPPORTED MTMC AUTOMATION INITIATIVES AND DOD OBJECTIVES TO REDUCE PAPER BURDENED, MANUAL OPERATIONS.
