27CFR240.783 and 27CFR240.900 will be reviewed in the light of the
findings of the final BATF report, "Study of Monthly Operations
Reports," due in November 1985. With the next submission, the
agency will povide in accordance with 5CFR1320.4 a complete
analysis of the burden, need and utility of alternative reporting
frequencies. In addition, the agency will provide a complete
justification for any information collection in this area. Remarks
added, effective 04/29/86: In conformance with the continuing
resolution funding appropriations for Treasury, Postal Services and
General Government (P.L. 99-190), the OMB Number has been extended
without substantive review under the Paperwork Reduction Act (44
U.S.C. 35).

THIS REPORT IS USED TO MONITOR WINERY
OPERATIONS TO INSURE COLLECTION OF WINE TAX REVENUES. IT FURTHER
INSURES THAT WINE IS PRODUCED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RULES
ESTABLISHED IN LAW AND REGULATIONS. ATF F 5120.17 PROVIDES THE RAW
DATA FOR ATF'S MONTHLY STATISTICAL RELEASE - WINE, WHICH IS USED BY
BOTH ATF AND INDUSTRY MEMBERS FOR TREND ANALYSIS AND
PLANNING.
