Abstract: THE SURVEY WILL COLLECT INFORMATION NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FROM STATE AND FEDERAL PRISONS ON LITERACY PROGRAMS. THE SURVEY DATA WILL, IN TURN, BE USED AS A BASIS FOR IDENTIFYING QUALITY LITERACY PROGRAMS FOR REPLICATION BY PRISON SYSTEMS. THE RESULTS OF THE SURVEY WILL BE PUBLISHED IN A GUIDE WHICH WILL SERVE AS A BASIS FOR TRAINING EFFORTS IN LITERACY EDUCATION IN PRISONS.
