The expiration date has been set at December 1986 to provide time for the Department to plan for changes in reporting and recordkeeping that may be recommended by the study referred to in item 3 of the justification.

THIS INFORMATION IS USED IN A VOLUNTARY PROGRAM TO RECEIVE INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED CUSTOMS CERTIFICATION THAT INTERMODAL CONTAINERS/ROAD VEHICLES MEET CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS OF INTERNATION CUSTOMS CONVENTIONS. SUCH CERTIFICATION FACILITATES INTERNATIONAL TRADE BY REDUCING INTERMEDIATE FRONTIER CONTROLS. OWNERS/OPERATORS/MANUFACTURERS ARE RESPONDENTS.
