INFORMATION COLLECTED WILL REPLICATE A 1969 STUDY EVALUATING JUDICIAL PEREMPTORY CHALLENGES IN CALIFORNIA. FINDINGS WILL REPRESENT PART OF AN EVALUATION OF 16 STATES PROVIDING FOR THESE CHALLENGES. QUESTIONNAIRES WILL BE SENT TO ALL PRESIDING JUDGES OF MUNICIPAL AND SUPERIOR COURTS IN CALIFORNIA, AND ALL LOS ANGELES SUPERIOR COURT JUDGES.
