UNDER THIS PROPOSAL THERMAL FLUID HEATERS WILL NO LONGER BE CONSIDERED BOILERS FOR INSPECTION PURPOSES. A THERMAL FLUID HEATER WILL BE CONSIDERED A TYPE OF EQUIPMENT UNDER 46 CFR SUBCHAPTER F (MARINE ENGINEERING SYSTEM), SEPARATE FROM BOILERS FOR INSPECTION AND TESTING. SEPARATION OF THERMAL FLUID HEATERS FROM BOILERS WILL BETTER REFLECT CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION DIFFERENCES.
