Comments were
received indicating that the cost and burden hour estimates were
inaccurate. OSM has agreed to more closely examine these estimates
through solicitation of comment in the NPRM, surveys of less than
10 respondents and, if necessary, larger surveys. OSM has also
agreed to review the clearance package more carefully to ensure
that the justification is accurate and up to date. Finally, OSM
agrees to review the regulations and to look for further burden
hour reductions, specifically looking at requirements that are
comparable to those under the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water
Act.
