Abstract: THE OFFICE OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS USES THESE RAILROAD REGULATIONS TO ASSURE TRANSPORTATION SAFETY OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS BY VERIFYING THAT RAIL CARS ARE IN PROPER CONDITION TO CONTAIN THE MATERIAL TRANSPORTED AND THAT RAIL SHIPMENTS OF OTHER HAZARDOUS MATERIALS ARE PERFORMED IN A SAFE MANNER.
