Terms of Clearance: This one-year approval applies only to the conduct of the pilot survey on daytime AM radio listener preferences. If NTIA decides to conduct a national survey on listener preferences, it must resubmit a new package containing a survey plan, a timetable for implementation and a analysis of the results of the pilot survey. Similarly, NTIA should submit a new package with the abovementioned information if it decides to do a separate survey on the technical aspects of AM daytime broadcasting that would require the collection of information from the public.

Abstract: THE CONGRESS, THROUGH APPROPRIATIONS PROVIDED IN FY 85, HAS CHANGED NTIA WITH AN ASSESSMENT OF AM BROADCAST STATION OPERATIONS TO DETERMINE THE POTENTI FOR EXTENDING DAYTIME-ONLY SERVICE. THROUGH CONTRACT, NTIA WILL SURVE A SAMPLE GROUP OF CITIZENS TO DETERMINE LISTENER PREFERENCES TO COMMUNICATIONS MEDIA.
