Abstract: THIS NATIONAL EPIDEMIOLOGIC SURVEY IS NECESSARY TO MONITOR THE PREVALENCE AND TRENDS IN THE MAJOR ORAL DISEASES AMONG THE ADULT AND AGED SEGMENTS OF THE AMERICAN POPULATION. THE PURPOSE IS TO ESTABLISH THE BASLINE FOR CORONAL CARIE ROOT CARIES, AND PERIDONTAL DESTRUCTION IN EMPLOYED ADULTS AND NON-INSTITUTIONALIZED SENIOR FOR FUTURE PREVENTIVE EFFORTS.
