Abstract: THESE LARGE COMMUNITY-BASED EPIDEMIOLOGIC STUDIES OF ELDERLY PERSONS WILL DETERMINE THE INFLUENSES OF PHYSIOLOGICAL, BEHAVIORAL, SOCIAL, AN ENVIRONMENTAL FORCES ON THE MORTALITY, MORBIDITY, AND UTILIZATION OF HEALTH SERVICES IN THE ELDERLY. ELIGIBLE RESPONDENTS ARE THE PARTICIPANTS IN THE THREE EPESE STUDY SITES, IOWA, EAST BOSTON, AND NEW HAVEN.
