ROCK BOLTING IS AN ACCEPTABLE METHO OF GROUND SUPPORT IN A MAJORITY OF THE STRATA ENCOUNTERED IN UNDERGROUND MINES. THE ANCHORAGE METHOD VARIES WITH THE STRATA AND INDIVIDUAL METHODS MAY VARY WITHIN A SINGLE MINE. EACH ANCHORAGE METH MUST BE TESTED TO ASSURE THE ULTIMATE COMPETENCY OF THE GROUND AND TO PREVENT GROUND FALLS.
