OSHA REQUIRES A RECORD OF PERIODIC
THOROUGH INSPECTION OF RUNNING ROPE ON CRANES AND DERRICKS. THE
INSPECTIONS ARE TO DETERMINE THE CONDITIO OF THE WIRE ROPES TO
PREVENT INJURY TO EMPLOYEES DUE TO ROPE FAILURE DURING
USE.
