Terms of Clearance: This OMB approval is only for the "New Claimant Questionnaire" include in this paperwork package. After discussions with DOL staff, OMB believes that 5 minutes per response is a more accurate estimate of the burden for the questionnaire and has adjusted the burden hours for this collection accordingly. The telephone interview follow-up is NOT approved at this time, since DOL has not yet submitted it for Paperwork Reduction Act review. A subsequent DOL request for OMB approval of the telephone interview follow-up should be accompanied by a new paperwork package.

Abstract: THIS DEMONSTRATION PROJECT IS DESIGNED TO EVALUATE WHETHER DISPLACED WORKERS CAN BE INDENTIFIED EARLY IN THE UNEMPLOYMENT SPELL, TEST THE ABILITY OF ALTERNATIVE EMPLOYMENT SERVICES TO REEMPLOY THE DISPLACED AND HOW SUCH A PROGRAM CAN BE IMPLEMENTED.
