Terms of Clearance: This request is approved on condition that the Bureau of the Census will do further work on respondent questionnaires DF-1 and DF-2 and enumerator-friendly questionnaires DF-1a and DF-2a to ensure that (1) all questions are asked in the same order, (2) each question asks the same concept, and (3) question wording or basic instructions are changed only when essential to adapt the respondent questionnaire for enumerator use. The final questionnaires will be submitted to OMB for inclusion in the docket ASAP.

Abstract: THE CENSUS BUREAU IS PLANNING TO CONDUCT A FULL-SCALE POPULATION AND HOUSING CENSUS IN 1987. THIS CENSUS WILL ALLOW US TO EXAMINE AND REFINE CENSUS METHODS IN RURAL AREAS AND SMALL TOWNS AND CITIES. RESPONDENTS WILL BE RESIDENTS OF TEN COUNTIES IN NORTH CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA.
