THE COLLECTION IS NEEDED TO PROVIDE
DATA ON MINERAL PRODUCTION FOR THE SECRETARY'S NEW YEAR REPORT. IT
IS USED AS AN ANNUAL PRODUCTION ESTIMATE. THE DATA ARE PUBLISHED BY
COMMODITY FOR USE BY GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, INDUSTRY, EDUCATION
PROGRAMS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THE RESPONDENTS ARE PRODUCERS OF
FERROUS METALS, INDUSTRAL MINERALS AND NONFERROUS METALS.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
