Abstract: THESE PROPOSED REGULATIONS PROVIDE A DEFINITION OF PROPERTY FOR WINDFALL PROFIT TAX PURPOSES. TH REGULATIONS REQUIRE A CERTIFICATION CONTAINING AN ELECTION STATEMENT B THE TAXPAYER AFFIRMING THAT HE/SHE IS ENTITLED TO THE ELECTION. THE ELECTION ENTITLES THE TAX-PAYER TO PREFERRED TAX TREATMENT ON CERTAIN CRUDE OIL.
