Abstract: THE NIMH, STATE MENTAL HEALTH COMMISSIONERS, STATE AND LOCA SERVICE PERSONNEL, AND RESEARCHERS HAVE UNDERSCORED THE NEED FOR ASSESSMENT TOOLS TO AID IN DETERMINING HOW BEST TO SERVE THE CHRONICAL MENTALLY ILL IN THE MOST COST EFFECTIVE MANNER.
