Recent
discussions with DOL concerning this package indicate that the
burden estimate for the FLSA recordkeeping requirements has been
underestimated. Thus, OMB is extending approval for this package
only through March 1987, to permit DOL to perform a thorough review
of these recordkeeping requirements and their associated burden.
Changes to the FLSA recordkeeping requirements associated with a
recent notice of proposed rulemaking will not take effect until the
final rule implementing such changes is issued and becomes
effective. At the time the final rule is issued, DOL should submit
an inventory correction worksheet to account for the recordkeeping
burden impact of this rule.
