Abstract: THE SURVEY WILL PROVIDE INFORMATION ABOUT THE NATURE OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE EDUCATION IN ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS. IT WILL INFORM ON PROGRAM TYPES, LANGUAGES TAUGHT, AND TEACHING PRACTICES. THIS INFORMATION WILL BE USEFUL FOR DEVELOPING A NATIONAL NETWORK OF EXEMPLARY PROGRAMS AND FOR GUIDING FUTURE PLANS FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT.
