Abstract: INFORMATION IS NEEDED TO ASSESS THE EXTENT OF HUMAN EXPOSURE TO PESTICIDES THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES AND THE SEVERITY OF HEALTH EFFECTS RELATED TO SUCH EXPOSURE. THESE TWO AUDITS, ONE ON HOSPITALIZED PESTICIDE POISONINGS, THE OTHER ON PESTICIDE RESIDUES IN GROUNDWATER, WILL BE USED TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF PESTICIDE REGISTRATION STANDARDS FOR THE PROTECTION OF HUMAN HEALTH.
