Abstract: STUDIES OF LOW-DOSE, CONTINUOUS IONIZING RADIATION EXPOSURES ARE OF PARTICULAR PUBLIC HEALTH IMPORTANCE. THIS STUDY PROVIDES A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO EVALUATE THE RISK OF RADIATION-INDUCED THYROID CANCER AND ABNORMALITIE IN A LARGE, WELL-DEFINED POPULATION EXPOSED TO HIGH BACKGROUND RADIATION.
