Abstract: THREAT FOR ALMOST 60 MILLION AMERICANS. THIS MAIL SURVEY OF 7,668 PHYSICIANS IN GENERAL/FAMILY PRACTICE, INTERNAL MEDICINE, AND CARDIOLOGY, ABOUT THEIR KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDES, AND BEHAVIORS REGARDING HYPERTENSION, WILL ENABLE NHLBI TO REDIRECT ITS PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION PROGRAM AND THUS FURTHER REDUCE HYPERTENSION-RELATED MORBIDITY AND MORTALITY.
