Abstract: TWO RECENT PUBLIC LAWS SET STANDARDS FOR CHILD WELFARE SERVICES PROVID TO INDIAN CHILDREN AND FAMILIES. THIS STUDY WILL DOCUMENT THE NUMBER OF INDIAN CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE NATIONWIDE AND THE TYPES OF SERVICES THEY ARE RECEIVING. RESPONDENTS INCLUDE OFFICIALS AND COURT JUDGES FOR PUBLIC AND INDIAN-OPERATED CHILD WELFARE PROGRAMS.
