Abstract: THE NATIONAL HEALTH INTERVIEW SURVEY, AN ONGOING SURVEY OF THE CIVILIAN, NONINSTITUTIONALIZED POPULATION, MONITORS THE NATION'S HEALTH. THE PRETEST OF THE 1988 NHIS WILL OCCUR IN JUNE, 1987 AND INCLUDE SUPPLEMENTS ON OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH, CHILD HEALTH, MEDICAL DEVICE IMPLANTS AND ALCOHOL.
