Terms of Clearance: IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PAPERWORK REDUCTION ACT AND 5 CFR 1350, THIS INFORMATION COLLECTION IS APPROVED THROUGH JUNE 30, 1989, AS MODIFIED IN THE ATTACHMENT TO THE CENSUS MEMORANDUM TO OMB OF 6/10/87 AND WITH THE ADDITION OF THE WORD "READILY" BEFORE "AVAILABLE" IN THE GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING ESTIMATES. THE FY88 RESPONSE BURDEN THE AGENCY SUBMITS VIA INVENTORY CORRECTION WORKSHEET SHOULD SHOW A MINIMUM OF 1 HOUR PER RESPONSE FOR THIS COLLECTION: THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THAT TH QUESTIONNAIRE CAN BE COMPLETED WITH REASONABLE CARE BY ANYONE IN LESS THAN 1 HOUR. Abstract: THE ECONOMIC CENSUSES, CONDUCTED UNDER PROVISIONS OF TITLE 13, UNITED STATES CODE, SECTION 13 CONSTITUTE THE PRIMARY SOURCE OF FACTS ABOUT THE STRUCTURE AND FUNCTIONING OF A LARGE SEGMENT OF THE ECONOMY AND PROVIDE ESSENTIAL INFORMATION FOR GOVERNMENT, BUSINESS, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THEY PROVIDE AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE FRAMEWORK FOR THE NATIONAL ACCOUNTS AND SERVE AS BENCHMARKS FOR ECONOMIC INDICATORS.
