Abstract: THE GRANTEE PROPOSES TO CONDUCT A NATIONWIDE SURVEY OF APPROXIMATELY 150 JAILS IN ORDER TO COLLECT INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR CLASSIFICATION SYSTEMS. ONLY JAILS THAT HAVE VOLUNTEERED TO PARTICIPATE WILL BE SURVEYED. THE INFORMATION OBTAINED WILL BE USED TO DEVELOP A MODEL OBJECTIVE JAIL CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM.
