Abstract: OWNERS OR OPERATORS OF UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS (UST'S) CONTAINING PETROLEUM MUST OBTAIN EVIDENCE OF FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR UST RELEASES. ON OCCASION OWNERS OR OPERATORS MUST REPORT TO EPA ON THE STATUS OF FINANCIAL ASSURANCE INSTRUMENTS, THEIR FINANCIAL STATUS, OR THE FINANCIAL STATUS OF INSTITUTIONS ISSUING FINANCIAL MECHANISMS. EPA WILL EVALUATE SUBMISSIONS FOR COMPLIANCE WITH REGULATIONS.
