Abstract: A 1981 STUDY CONFIRMED THE EXISTENCE AND INVESTIGATED THE REASONS FOR THE HIGH DEGREE OF MOBILITY AMONG COMPUTER SCIENCE FACULTY. THIS I A FOLLOW-UP TO THAT PREVIOUS STUDY. IT WILL INCLUDE A SURVEY OF THE PH.D. GRANTING COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPARTMENTS IN THE U.S. AND THEN AN INQUIRY WITH THE INDIVIDUALS IDENTIFIED.
