Abstract: MUCH OF THE NONMETROPOLITAN SOUTH IS EXPERIENCING AN INDUSTRIALIZATION PROCESS LED BY BRANCH PLANTS, MANY O WHICH ARE ASSEMBLY COMPONENTS OF HIGH-TECHNOLOGY MANUFACTURERS. RELATIVELY LITTLE IS KNOWN ABOUT THEIR LOCATIONAL NEEDS, ESPECIALLY REGARDING LABOR TYPES. THE EDA NEEDS SPECIFIC SURVEY DATA ON THESE NEEDS TO ASSIST IN ATTRACTING MANUFACTURING TO DISTRESSED AREAS.
