This information
collection request is approved subject to the following conditions:
1) a battery of questions should be added that assess the
interaction between physicians and parents of children with
indications of high risk factors for coronary heart diseases
particularly where diet is a primary means of treatment, and 2) NIH
should submit a plan that shows how any prevention schemes
developed on the basis of this survey will be assessed in terms of
their affects on the patient population accounting for the role of
the parents.

DATA WILL BE COLLECTED ON
REPRESENTATIVE SAMPLE OF 1500 GENERAL AND FAMILY PRACTITIONERS AND
PEDIATRICIANS TO PROVIDE INFORMATION ON THEIR ATTITUDES, KNOWLEDGE,
AND PRACTICE BEHAVIORS RELATED TO MANAGING CORONARY HEART DISEASE
RISK FACTORS IN CHILDREN. INFORMATION WILL BE USED TO ASSIST IN THE
DEVELOPMENT OF PROGRAMS FOR MORE EFFECTIVE DISSEMINATION OF
RESEARCH RESULTS.
