Abstract: INDIVIDUALS WHO SELL THEIR PRINCIPAL RESIDENCE AT A GAIN USE FORM 2119 WHETHER OR NOT THEY PURCHASE ANOTHER PRINCIPAL RESIDENCE. THE FORM IS ALSO USED BY THOSE TAXPAYERS 55 YEAR OF AGE OR OLDER WHO ELECT TO EXCLUDE THE GAIN ON THE SALE OF THEIR PRINCIPAL RESIDENCE. THE INFORMATION IS USED TO HELP VERIFY WHETHER O NOT THE GAIN OR EXCLUSION OF GAIN HAS BEEN CORRECTLY REPORTED.
