This collection
is approved for use under OMB Control No. 2115-0035 for the full
three years through September 1990 under the condition that Coast
Guard agree to extend the interval between Campaign Update Form
submissions from 60 days to 90 days for those submissions following
the first update which the C.G. may continue to require 60 days
following the start of the campaign.

UNDER 46 U.S.C. 4310 MANUFACTURERS OF
BOATS AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE INFORMATION
TO THE COMMANDANT WHEN SUBSTANTIAL RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY TO THE
PUBLIC OR FAIL TO COMPLY WITH APPLICABLE REGULATIONS. THE COAST
GUARD USES THE CG-4917 AND CG-4918 TO COLLECT THE
INFORMATION.
