ABILITY OF SMALL BANKS TO COMPETE WITH
LARGE BANKS IN A DEREGULATED ENVIRONMENT IS IMPORTANT TO THE GROWTH
OF SMALL BANKS IN THE U.S. FINANCIAL SYSTEM AND TO THE AVAILABILITY
OF FINANCING TO SMALL BUSINESSES. THIS PROJECT WILL ASSESS HOW THE
EXISTING AND FUTURE DEREGULATIONS MIGHT AFFECT THE COMPETITIVENESS
OF SMALL BANKS. THE KNOWLEDGE IS CRUCIAL TO THE FORMULATION OF
PUBLIC POLICY REGARDING THE DEREGULATION OF THE FINANCIAL SERVICE
INDUSTRY.
