In accordance
with 5 CFR 1320, OMB approves this information collection for one
year, until November 1, 1988. At that time, NMFS must present the
information that has been collected on the fishery to date, and
must justify continuation of this collection on the basis of that
information. In order to help determine the practical utility of
the collected information, NMFS must present alternative data
sampling plans that would reduce reporting burden by 10, 25, and 50
percent. The discussion of these alternatives must describe the
resulting loss of data, any consequent loss of important
statistics, and the practical policy implications, particularly for
fishery management plan development.
