Abstract: THE REGULATIONS REQUIRE THAT RETAILERS WHO ELECT TO HAVE A SELLER ASSUME LIABILITY FOR THE TAX IMPOSED BY SECTION 4041(A)(1) OF THE CODE CREATE AND MAINTAIN A SUFFICIENT RECORD TO IDENTIFY THE TAXPAYER AT ALL TIMES. THIS IS FOR AUDIT PURPOSES.
