Abstract: ENDANGERED SPECIES, FISHERY LEGISLATION, MARINE RESOURCES CONSERVATIO DATA IS USED TO DETERMINE WHETHER TO ALLOW AN INCIDENTAL TAKING OF MARINE MAMMALS INCIDENTAL TO SPECIFIED ACTIVITIES (OTHER THAN COMMERCIAL FISHING) AND TO MONITOR ANY AUTHORIZED TAKING. THE AFFECTED PUBLIC IS ANY U.S. CITIZEN (DEFINED AS INCLUDING CORPORATIONS AND GOVERNMENTAL UNITS CONTROLLED BY AMERICAN CITIZENS) THAT INCIDENTALLY TAKES MARINE MAMMALS.
