THE REGULATIONS REQUIRE THAT A
GOVERNMENT SECURITIES BROKER OR DEALER THAT IS A BRANCH OR AGENCY
OF A FOREIGN BANK MAINTAIN A BALANCE ON DEPOSIT WITH A BANK IN
ACCORDANCE WITH A SPECIFIED FORMULA. THIS PROPOSAL WOULD REQUIRE
THAT RECORDS OF COMPUTATIONS EVIDENCING COMPLIANCE BE CREATED AND
MAINTAINED FOR THE PURPOSE OF ASSURING CUSTOMER PROTECTION.
