Abstract: SECTION 314 OF THE FEDERAL LAND POLICY AND MANAGEMENT ACT OF 1976 (43 USC 1744) REQUIRES THAT ALL MINING CLAIMS AND SITES BE RECORDED WITH THE BUREAU AND THAT EACH YEAR THEREAFTER, THE OWNER OF THE CLAIM OR SITE MUST FILE EITHER A PROOF OF ANNUAL ASSESSMENT WORK OR A NOTICE OF INTENT TO HOLD FOR TH CLAIM OR SITE. THESE REGULATIONS PROVIDE THE PROCEDURES TO BE FOLLOWE TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE ACT.
