VITAL SYSTEM AUTOMATION RULES ARE
NECESSARY TO PROMOTE THE SAFETY OF LIFE AND PROPERTY AT SEA ON U.S.
COAST GUARD CERTIFICATION VESSELS. THE COAST GUARD REVIEWS PLANS,
TESTS, LOGS, AND PROCEDURES TO DETERMIN COMPLIANCE AND EVALUATE
NECESSARY MANNING OF AUTOMATED VESSELS. AUTOMATED VESSEL DESIGNERS,
SHIPYARDS, MANUFACTURERS, OWNERS, AND CREWMEMBERS ARE
AFFECTED.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies

1320.8(b)(3).
