THIS STUDY EVALUATES THE EFFECTIVENESS
OF DOSE STANDARDS ON RETARDING THE RATES O PROGRESSION OF COAL
WORKERS' PNEUMOCONIOSIS AND OTHER RESPIRATORY AILMENTS ASSOCIATED
WITH COAL MINING. THIS STUDY HELPS TO IDENTIFY MINERS WHO ARE
DEVELOPING RESPIRATORY DISEASE AT EARLY STAGES AND GUIDES THE MINER
AND HIS PHYSICIAN TO TAKE STEPS TO PREVENT PNEUMOCONIOSIS FROM
BECOMING DISABLING.
