This ICR is
approved for three years and covers the existing ocean dumping
program. EPA must submit a new ICR for the upcoming changes to the
ocean dumping regulations. EPA has done a good job reflecting
changes in the ocean dumping program activity and burden especially
including and estimating the site designation burden. As indicated
in the terms of clearance of 4/5/85, EPA should carefully examine
the recordkeeping and reporting requirements to determine if they
can be made less burdensome (i.e. vary monitoring with frequency of
activity or hazardousness of dumped material).
