THE UNIT MAINTENANCE COST INFORMATION
SUBMITTED BY STATE HIGHWAY AGENCIES IS ESSENTIAL IN THE DEVELOPMENT
OF NATIONAL COST TRENDS FOR LABOR, MATERIAL, AND EQUIPMENT RENTAL
RATES. THESE COST TRENDS ARE OF PRIME IMPORTANCE TO THE FEDERAL
GOVERNMENT IN THAT THEY PROVIDE GUIDAN FOR ESTIMATING FUTURE
HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS.

the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
