A SMOKING CESSATION PROGRAM FOR BLACK
MOTHERS OF HEADSTART CHILDREN WILL BE ASSESSED FOR EFFICACY AND
EFFECTIVENESS. A QUASI-EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN WILL BE USED WITH
MATCHED HEADSTART SCHOOLS IN THE CITY OF CHICAGO. THE DATA WILL
HELP GUIDE NCI'S NATIONAL CANCER PREVENTION AND CONTROL PROGRAM AND
PROVIDE NEEDED INFORMATION TO ASSESS A SMOKING CESSATION
INTERVENTION IN BLACK HEADSTART MOTHERS, AGES 18 TO 40
