Abstract: THIS SURVEY ENABLES THE INTERIOR TO MEET THE RESPONSIBILITIES MANDATED BY THE NATIONAL MATERIA AND MINERALS POLICY, RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1980 (P.L. 96-479 AND TO INFORM THE CONGRESS OF DEVELOPMENTS IN THE MINERALS INDUSTRIES INCLUDING POTENTIAL CRISES THEREIN.
