Terms of Clearance: Approved for 1 year. NASA should provide breakdowns of the equipment redistribution figure of 6253 items for FY 1987. This figure was provided in a report by NASA for OMB dated 6/13/88 (pg. 3 para. 4) for a question regarding the NEMS. The breakdown should be in the following categories. 1) equipment transfers between NASA installations 2) within installations 3) between installations and contractors, and 4) between contractors. NASA should also present resubmission of this clearance in a timely manner so that it does not have to be reinstated in 1990.

Abstract: FOR NASA CONTRACTORS TO USE GOVERNMENT-OWNED EQUIPMENT THEY MUST REPOR THE STATUS OF THAT EQUIPMENT. THE 1342 IS ALREADY USED BY DOD CONTRACTORS FOR THIS PURPOSE, WE USE 1342'S RATHER THAN CREATING A SEPARATE FORM. NASA CONTRACTORS, HOWEVER, PREPARE ONLY SECTION I OF THE FORM AND MAY SUBMIT THE INFORMATION IN AN EQUIVALENT FORMAT.
