Abstract: THE FEDERAL EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM (FERS) ACT OF 1986, PUBLIC LAW 99-335, PERMITS ALL NON-DISABILITY RETIREES TO MAKE AN ELECTION BETWEEN ALTERNATIVE FORMS OF ANNUITY. THIS ELECTION ALSO REQUIRES CERTAIN INFORMATION REGARDING THE RETIREE'S MARITAL STATUS. FORM RI 92-2 EXPLAINS THIS ALTERNATIVE ANNUITY ELECTION AND ELICITS THE RETIREE'S ELECTION.
